MacBook Pro Retina 13 Review

Like all Apple products the MacBook Pro is a serious eye catcher that combines good looks and aesthetics, powerful internals, a stellar display, and solid battery life. Where it lacks is in the price department. Before you go out and shell out top dollar for a macbook pro you need to seriously ask whether it’s overkill for what you need it to do. This Mid 2014 13” MacBook Pro is a great product for anyone looking to get into any type of graphic or video work, and I thoroughly enjoy using it.

Do they both have iMovie please please please answer
    Thanks

  2. tipoomaster says:

The Pro really isn’t as much more powerful as the clock speed or this video
would indicate, if you look at real tests. This is because both of them are
hitting the turbo clock more than its base clock in most situations,
minimizing the gap between them. Only with heavy use on both cores and the
GPU would you see the Air throttle more.

  3. Julie_Rawr says:

Guys please help. I’m in 8th grade and I want to see which laptop would be
better for school use. I usually surf the web, download music, edit videos
and pictures, I like to game a lot, and watching Netflix, typing out
essays, research and doing projects. Which laptop would be better? The pro
or the air? I want something that can do the job no problem.

  4. Asas AL says:

    guys im so confused
I watch movies and tv shows and browsing I don’t use the photoshop .
do I go with the MacBook Pro 13 or the MacBook Air 13 ?

  5. Probably Fadeley says:

  6. Amanda Gracex says:

I thought the mac book pro had a DVD port? Do any of the apple laptops have
    a DVD port?

  7. 123PersonCrazy says:

I want one to play minecraft only and watch youtube and surf the web which
    should I pick

  8. Brian Kim says:

My birthday is coming soon but I don’t know if I should get an air or a
pro. I do usually programming, homework, listening music, little bit of
gaming, and lots of other stuffs. And sometimes video editing. Which one
    should I get?

  9. janelle haines says:

which one is better for editing and uploading videos?

  10. nuelabeauty101 says:

Please help – im in 7th grade and for my birthday I want a mac computer but
I cant decide. all I want if for is netflix, editing videos, typing, and
surfing the web. Which one do you think I should go with pro orair? Please
    reply and thanks

  11. JULIUS K says:

Watching this on my new macbook pro retina 13″ (mid-level). Loving it. I
think pro is far better machine than air. Just the screen resolution would
be enough to get pro. Beautiful machine. Air isn’t all that bad either
considering the weigh and the price. These are better than any of my
    previous windows laptops.

  12. kakashi hatake says:

Hi guys, I’m going to buy one these. Can’t decide which one to get. I don’t
use photoshop, video editing. I watch online videos mostly, and do day to
day work. Willing to play light games(ace combat 6).any opinions on this?

  13. Cameron LastName says:

So I would mainly use it for Internet Browsing, other basic laptop stuff,
and probably The Sims. Would you say the Air is a good way to go? Can it
handle one game? Also is the non-retina display going to be very visible?
Say if I used an iMac with retina and the Air without it, would it be
noticeable? Mainly concerned with display I guess. Would it be able to
handle one or two games? Also one more thing, how is 1080p video on it? I
    know it wouldn’t support 4k.

  14. snnnoopy says:

Gosh, this was an excellent video that hit my questions right where they
    hurt.

  15. Erik Lingvall says:

great comparison. one question, have you been able to see a significant
difference in the speed of the two. i am looking to get the air with an
additional 4gb of memory (only $100 more), making it 8gb. I realize the
processor is significantly less than that of the pro. but when testing out
both machines, I couldn’t really see a significant difference in speed. I
do some simple video editing and photoshop. couldn’t really see a
significance difference of speed between the two with these programs. would
love to hear your thoughts! thanks in advance!!

  16. chance herring says:

    MacBook Pro is waaayyyy better

  17. theforcewithin says:

    Lisa is so cute haha

  18. John Stramiello says:

The air is more than capable for basic needs and even video editing, music
production, and gaming with only little hesitation. I would seriously only
recommend the pro if you do more graphic intensive or CPU intensive apps.
Other than that, the air is perfectly capable for nearly anything to a good
    extent.

  19. MrBeastycracker says:

    Oblivion in the Background <3

  20. Ravesh Dadalani says:

The MacBook Air retina display is coming out between October 2014 and
    January 2015

  21. TrollMeanFilms says:

Can someone help me so I’m a student and need a labtop for school but I
also like to do creative stuff like design or draw. I need something to
watch movies and videos on which macbook should I get air or pro?

  22. sebastian guzman says:

    It’s a .5 a pound different big deal

  23. chance herring says:

EXTREMELY GOOD JOB ON THIS VIDEO!! Thank you!!!!

  24. Probably Fadeley says:

it is exactly overkill for what I need it for

but I’m gonna blow my money on it anyway

  25. 15heartz says:

Why do you say mid? explain

  26. Mal Walker says:

    Good show. thanks

  27. Joe Beck says:

Awesome review! Great shots and loved that warp stabilization!

  28. JUSTECH says:

When will we smell a giveaway?

  29. Ashiq Shaikh says:

Another great video as usual Chad !

  30. Wood eh says:

The MacBook Pro 13″ (Mid 2014) is almost identical to the Late 2013.
This suggests that the Late 2014 will be a big overhaul, right?

Broadwell and possibly some design changes. is it worth waiting for the
Late 2014, or just go with the Mid 2014?

  31. Alex Tan says:

Just Asking, I want to get a MBP base for school work which includes
Keynote presentation, some pages and numbers documents and some moderate
video editing. I want to ask if 128gb SSD storage is enough and if I buy an
USB 3.0 external hard drive and store my data on it and when I open files
on my mac that is on the external hard drive, would it slow down? Thanks
    and Great Video!

  32. #1 Clash of clans Gaming says:

Would u get that computer for gaming ? (Not completly but sometimes,i
sometimes play league of legends , i want a mac, can this machine handle
    lol thank you)

  33. JULIUS K says:

I’m watching it on my macbook pro retina 13′ (mid level).
I paid a little over $1500 and I DON’T think it’s expensive by any means.
Its like buying a car. You could buy a ford or buy a bmw, it does make
    difference.

  34. chance herring says:

WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR WHITE DESK?????

  35. Aryan Chitale says:

The macbook pro gets pretty hot. But I love it other than that! If the heat
ruins it for you, there’s always the iMac!

  36. Joseph Nguyen says:

I plan to buy a brandnew a rMBP Mid 2014, I will choose 128GB PCIe Flash
Storage, because I live in Vn and this is the cheapest MacBook Pro in my
country for around $1300. I just need it, do you recommmend something?

  37. Gianluca Serpi says:

Thank you for your reviews of rMBP (2014) 13″ and 15″. I have to buy a rMBP
    but i really can’t choose.
I like the portability of the rMBP 13″ but i’m worried about video editing.
    I have a GoPro HERO 3+ and i record underwater video at 1080p 60fps
25-40min. As for now I’ll use imovie and FCPX mainly for color correction,
slow motion, basic graphic effects and export 1080 for HDtv and youtube.
i don’t want to have a slow computer so i was wandering what is your video
editing experience with rMBP 13″ i7 dual-core vs rMBP 15″ i7 (with only
Iris Pro) quad-code all with 16GB of RAM. Both don’t have the dedicated
graphic and the rMBP with the GT750M in Italy cost $3.386 (a bit too much
for a notebook if you think that it has almost the same price of a Mac
Pro). Does the quad core make a lot of difference?

  38. Wxu110 says:

Atm Im using a 2010 mac book pro.. Total shit xD I had it on my lap for
about a hour browsing on youtube next thing you know I get burned with
marks on my leg :P. Im thinking of getting this mac on black friday what do
you think the price would be plus tax?

  39. Lassi Saarinen says:

Isn’t that screen too small for video editing?

  40. Luis Robles says:

Put cover/case it doesn’t get scratch. Snap on back and top case. Well that
is what I would do. They have clear if you still want the looks to shine
    through.

  41. Carlos_ Destroyertv says:

Please anwer me is the macbook pro got the dvd or cd player

  42. Puncake says:

Since im in year 10 in the uk and I have alot of work would you reccomend
this to me for both work and entertainment

  43. Rishi Dholliwar says:

should i get this now or wait for 2015? i have a windows laptop that does
what i need and a powerful $2000 gaming pc i built. im taking engineering
and will spend lots of time at school doing programming and autocad. i want
a macbook cause im bored of the windows software. im thinking of getting
the base model 13 inch, i think that should get what i need done.

  44. TheMorpheusProject says:

    Videos are great quality

  45. kefkapalazzo1 says:

Macbook pros are more powerful than ultra books, so the price is warranted
