Mac OS X 10.5 can only be installed on a PowerMac G4 867MHz or better and any Intel Mac.

Here is how to install Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard on a PowerMac G4 450 MHz Dual, all you need to do is follow instruction on this video. Simple and easy. It takes about 1 hour to upgrade from Mac OS X 10.4.

FYI, the specs of this Power Mac G4 are : G4 450MHz Dual, 640 MB RAM, 80GB HD. The graphics card is stock ATI Rage 128 Pro 16MB of SDRAM occupies a 66 MHz PCI slot.

    Leopardassist, I let the mac reboot and try to load installation DVD… I
    get Kernel Panic: Unable to find driver for this platform: PowerMac

    please assist with this query– i do not see any one else in comment page
    with this problem—ok i downloaded from softonics the copy of 10.4 copied
    it dvd then put it into mac mini– so far so good the icon looks like a
    normal box package and says — MacOSXUpdCombo10.5.6.pkg i click on it and
    this appears— ( the installer package mac etc.etc. cannot be opened -the
    bill of materials for this package was not found ) so please explain what
    this means and can i get what it wants ? or is this pkg never going to
    install ? it was free by the way

    i need help. im installing mac os x 10.5 on a windows pc. i erased my hard
    disk and made it a Mac Os Extended or something like that. it said 33
    minutes to complete and when it went to “about a minute” nothing happened.
    then i moved my mouse and clicked something and now some ball is spinning
    instead of a black mouse and nothing is happening. whats wrong with it?

    you need doual layer DVD player because Mac Os X 10.5 Leopard DVD is more
    than 7 GB!

    Hi. G4’s are very cheap now, you are better off getting a G4 800 DP or
    better on ebay. I have seen people for 45pounds getting an MDD G4 1.42
    DP!!! Whatever you do make sure you get a DP (dual processor) and a good
    graphics card. All the rest you can manage. Out of curiosity, which Mac do
    you want to upgrade from?
