How to Set up Air play from Mac to Apple TV

This is a how to video on setting up airplay from your Macbook display to show on your HDTV using an Apple TV to wireslessly stream. Very simple to set up and depending on which model Apple Tv (Gen 1, 2 or 3) You can display at 720p or 1080p anything from your macbook or imac computer (2011 or newer) to display onto your apple tv.

    I can't get the display to show on the TV AT ALL… the audio is coming through okay though. I've checked everything and don't know what to do because it looks like it connects and everything, however the TV is just blank and dark…

    I can't see apple tv lego on the menu bar of mac pro! I can see it on iTune. there is no "Airplay Display" option above "Show mirroring …" that is checked but still nothing on menu bar!!! How can I fix that? Thanks

    my computer isn't giving the option to enable or able the "mirroring" screen. why is that? it just show the check box saying "showing mirroring options in the menu bar when available" 🙁

    I have a macbook pro 15inch mid 2010. is it impossible to connect it to my tv through Apple TV 3..? I also intend to buy an iPad air first generation and that's the main reason i bought (second hand) apple tv. Will i be able to connect it normally? thank you in advance for your answers!
