So appreciate you posting this. I'm following it and confident I will have success. Ran into a glitch, however. Mac uses Locktite on their hinge screws, apparently. So the first three on right came out easy. The 3 hinge screws on left are not budging. I have now stripped the head and am in the process of trying to figure out how to get these out. I did find a comment, while searching, that recommended using a hot glue gun (without glue, of course) to heat these hinge screws before attempting to extract.

I would also recommend using a hardened steel screwdriver. I used a cheap husky from H Depot and it easily became a twisted swirling, unusable driver. Have purchased a Wiha driver, as well as replacement screws, as the stripped one's will obviously never work again. Will let you know how it goes. Wish I had known about the heat process and the cheap screwdriver issue before I started. Ack. Live and learn.
