– Power off

– Power on and hold the Command key and S key


/sbin/mount -uw /

rm /var/db/.applesetupdone


And after you are ready to restore macbook pro without disc OS X version ≤ 10.6.8

    i have a partition of free space caused by unsuccessful boocamp installation of windows.. i cant get rid of it from disk utility. will factory reset from terminal help me get rid of it ??????

    ATTENTION!! thats just stupid. it doesn't erase your data or reinstall your os. you just trick your computer to create a new user account. if you go to preferences -> users after doing this, there will still be your old account with all the data in it !!!
