Very good basic tutorial! I haven’t had a Mac since I was in my tweens and
    as I’m nearing my mid-20’s now… well, it’s been a while, is all I’m
saying. But because of Windows laptop price developments, combined with my
massive need of battery life, the MacBook Air is suddenly very likely to be
my next laptop and I am determined to become flawless at Mac OS.
Seriously, if I could do it when I was twelve years old, I can bloody well
learn to do it again! 😛

Very informative. I’ve had a MAC for quite a while, but this really
    helped. Thank you.

Not that it’s critical, but to remove an app from the dock, you don’t need
to drag its icon all the way to the trash. All you have to do is drag it
off the dock, like up an inch or so. Icon go poof. Literally. Also, you can
quit any open application directly from the dock by right-clicking its icon
to bring up its menu and selecting Quit. Much quicker than navigating to
the menu bar, and no command-Q needed. Cheers.
